Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard procedures and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
