Man Utd Head Coach Ruben Amorim States He Cannot Avoid Disappointing Results

Manchester United manager under pressure during recent fixture

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim experiences the strain during the 3-1 loss at opponents

Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim acknowledges he is unable to conceal from his disappointing record and believes it is understandable that club icons are criticizing him.

Earlier this week, United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney mentioned during his podcast that "the heart has gone" from his former club.

The Portuguese manager has managed just eighteen victories from his 49 games in control, including nine out of thirty-three in the Premier League, where he has yet to secure two successive wins.

Despite the fact that high-level Old Trafford sources are adamant that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still supportive Amorim, an inability to defeat recently promoted Sunderland on the weekend will ignite fresh discussion about his position heading into the upcoming fortnight international break.

"This is normal," said the Portuguese coach, when questioned about Rooney's remarks. "One cannot run away from the performance."

"Additionally you have the legacy from the previous campaign, [although] that period for me is in the past."

Supporter Reaction and Present Circumstances

Manchester United's supporters remained supportive of Amorim following the previous campaign's poor fare, when they finished 15th in the league - their poorest performance since the 1973/74 relegation season - and were defeated in the European showpiece, in the belief that this season would be considerably improved.

The manager promised supporters the circumstances would improve because he had additional time to work with his team without the midweek distraction of European competition.

That is not how the opening six fixtures have materialised as United have suffered 3 losses so far and find themselves 14th in the standings.

Coach's Response to Questions

When questioned what promises he could give followers that the situation will get better, the manager stated: "It's not the time to say, it is the time to demonstrate."

"I review the games in the current campaign and, for me, they are completely varied, but I have nothing to say at this moment."
